Holden’s Colorado ute will get a fresh face as part of its mid-life update that ushers in improved safety features including forward collision alert, lane departure warning and front park assist. Drivetrains from the outgoing model will be retained in the updated Colorado.

Improvements to ride and comfort are on their way to Holden’s Colorado light-commercial vehicle and Colorado 7 SUV range. However, not much is expected to change cosmetically or with powertrain options.

GM is readying its own new-generation, Thai-built Chevrolet pick-up to replace the Isuzu D-Max-based Colorado. The new one-tonne utility is likely to end up with Holden badges and could be powered by 2.5 and 2.8-litre Thai-built engines co-developed with Italian diesel specialist VM Motori.

Holden will relaunch its Rodeo range as the Colorado in July via a cosmetically facelifted model that is now on sale in Thailand as the Chevrolet Colorado. Featuring a new front bumper and interior trim, it will swap the Chev bow-tie logo on its grille for Holden’s lion mascot.
