SsangYong will ramp up its efforts to boost sales in Australia with a refreshed Korando compact-SUV before the middle of the year. The curved front-end of the Giugiaro-penned original is gone in favour of a sharper, more squared off look. The cabin also gains soft-touch materials and a new fascia.

Released: Mar 2012

The SUT1 – standing for Sports Utility Truck – is expected to replace the Actyon Sports in Australian showrooms in the first quarter of 2012. The dual-cab five-seater retains the rugged body-on-frame construction of the Actyon Sports but gain the Korando’s new 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and six-speed manual and automatic transmissions.

SsangYong’s first monocoque-bodied SUV will have a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with an Australian-made Drive Systems International six-speed auto or manual transmission plus a choice of all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive variants. A 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine is also in development.

SsangYong's all-new Actyon Sports dual-cab five-seater ute replaces the Musso utility from around February 2007. All Actyon models will be powered by either an 110kW/214Nm 2.3-litre petrol engine or a 104kW/310Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel, mated to manual and auto transmissions.
