Genesis is readying its refreshed GV60 Electric SUV for Australian showrooms in June the facelifted model arriving with a stronger driveline, larger battery, improved connectivity, and technology features. Pricing is cut by about $15,000.

Larger Ora 5 fully electric small SUV arrives amid massively rising EV market. The newcomer is a larger, more advanced successor to the slow selling Ora hatch with sharp driveaway pricing. Power comes from a single, front mounted electric traction motor good for 150kW/260Nm.

Facelifted ZR-V range brings additional technologies to the FWD mid-sized SUV and a greater range of hybrid options. Petrol variants continue to use a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine while the e:HEV range combines a 2.0-litre Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder petrol engine.

Suzuki’s fully electric e Vitara small segment SUV arrives out of India in two variants to complement the petrol-powered line-up. The Motion 2WD offers 344km range and 106kW/193Nm, while the Ultra AWD delivers 395km range and 135kW/307Nm.

Refreshed small SUV segment Formentor range introduces new drivetrains, an updated design, and a significant uplift in technology. The expanded line-up, with its new naming convention, now opens with the mild-hybrid Formentor S variant.

Additional to the Tiggo 9 SUV range is the Elite front-wheel drive PHEV, the variant targeting buyers prioritising “urban usability, comfort and value” over outright traction capability of the all-wheel drive range-topper. The dual-motor powertrain has smaller 19kWh battery.

BYD Seal 6 Sedan and Touring (wagon) variants in Essential and Premium spec respectively arrive with hybrid powertrains said to offer long-distance range of over 1000km. The driveline comprises a 1.5-litre Atkinson cycle four-cylinder petrol engine and electric motor combo.

A maybe for May is Audi’s next-generation Q3 and Q3 Sportback range billed as the best-equipped small SUV range to date. SUV and Coupe SUV body styles are available in petrol only but with the choice of front- or all-wheel drive. A total of 10 variants will be available.

Honda’s new hybrid-powered sports coupe built on Civic Type R chassis is available in a single variant. The sixth generation Prelude marks a return of the nameplate Down Under for the first time since 2001. Its e:HEV hybrid powertrain from CR-V produces 135kW/315Nm.

Staria ushers in new powertrain choices including confirmation of fully electric (BEV) and hybrid models later this year. Diesel 2.2-litre and petrol 3.5-litre power continues, paired with an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. The hybrid line-up includes two- and seven-seat variants.

A smart looking, slightly more compact, fully electric commercial van at a sharp price and the winner of 2026 International Van of the Year. The P5 is built on Kia’s next-generation E-GMP.S Platform Beyond Vehicle platform and offers 416km range. Passenger variants are in the pipeline.

Arises from previous RZ 450e – now badged as the RZ500e and 550e – the fully electric large segment SUV line-up scores significant MY26 updates ushering in new variants, available yoke-style steering, and powertrain improvements.
Model: Triton
Joining model year updates to the Triton range, the Raider variant arrives with suspension and styling improvements. Based on the GSR flagship, the Triton Raider scores upgraded Monroe suspension, a specific wheel/tyre combo, added protection elements, and side-door decals.
Model: BZ4X - Touring
Toyota introduces its range-topping bZ4X Touring (wagon) this month, the electric SUV riding on the same e-TNGA platform as the regular bZ4X but with an upgraded dual-motor AWD powertrain producing 280kW (+28kW). Toyota claims a 0-100km/h time of 4.4 seconds.
Model: Hilux - B E V
The first battery electric light commercial vehicle from Toyota is available in two grades – SR and SR5 – and with cab-chassis and pick-up body styles. The dual-cab-only HiLux BEV is offered exclusively in four-wheel drive configuration with dual electric motors. Anticipated range is 315km.
Model: Shark - 6
BYD’s Shark 6 PHEV ute line-up has expanded in Australia with the arrival of the new heavy-duty Cab-Chassis and the flagship Performance variants. The former carries over the 1.5-litre petrol/electric powertrain, while the latter is upgraded with 2.0-litre unit making 350kW/700Nm.

Model: BT-50 - Thunder 4x4
Released: Apr 2026
Mazda has brought back its hard-core BT-50 Thunder range-topper for 2026 alongside a tradie-oriented Boss model based on the XT, the former adding off-road appeal to the updated line-up. Thunder takes GT trim adding an array of visual and practical upgrades for greater appeal.

MG’s most affordable BEV is this new 110kW or 118kW/250Nm front-wheel drive model that sits beneath existing MG 4 variants. The Urban has lower capacity LFP battery choices (43kWh and 54kWh) with a 323km range for the former and 415km for the latter.
Model: Outlander - Plug-in hybrid
The updated and localised Outlander PHEV brings a more refined powertrain with an increased all-electric driving range (up 2km to 86km), updated 22.7kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and a reduced combined cycle fuel consumption figure, down 0.3 litres to 1.2L/100km.

Scheduled for Q2 launch, this is the second BEV in Subaru’s local range. It runs a dual-motor, AWD system producing 280kW enabling a claimed 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds making it the fastest-accelerating Subaru production car ever built… all with 211mm of ground clearance!

Tesla is reintroducing a three-row SUV in a single-variant called the Model Y L with a longer wheelbase than the familiar five-seat Model Y, but bespoke and taller bodywork that hides not just a simple stretch but in fact a surprisingly differentiated vehicle beneath.

Volkswagen’s more NVES friendly large Tayron eHybrid SUV is scheduled for a Q2 arrival positioned above its petrol-powered equivalents and priced accordingly. It offers a choice of two 1.5-litre turbo-petrol electrified drivetrains for efficiency gains and 110km all-electric range.

The revised Honda CR-V medium SUV line-up for 2026 includes four e:HEV hybrids, including two AWD variants for the first time. Beyond powertrain and variant changes, the CR-V has received a mild visual makeover, with the flagship e:HEV RS AWD the biggest beneficiary.

The updated 2026 Geely EX5 mid-size electric SUV has a larger 68.4kWh battery extending range to as much as 475km. While it offers slower acceleration and poorer energy consumption, the inclusion of V2L and V2V capability, and 160kW/320Nm output is welcomed.

Model: Vistiq
Cadillac’s range-topping Vistiq seven-seat SUV offers dual-motor drive and 459kW/880Nm of output for a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds. Range is listed at up to 461km from a 91kWh lithium-ion battery, while equipment includes Brembo brakes and air suspension.

Cadillac’s Optiq mid-size luxury SUV arrives with 224kW/480Nm of output courtesy of a dual-motor driveline and 75kWh lithium-ion battery. Range is quoted at up to 425km, while equipment includes Brembo brakes, coil-over front suspension, and a multilink rear-end.

Also due sometime from April is VW’s midsize Tiguan eHybrid SUV in two versions. Volkswagen says the Tiguan continues as its core five-seat offering, with a 490-litre boot capacity and a more compact footprint suited to urban environments.

Fully electric, China-built Elexio medium SUV is priced from $59,990 d/a with a price rise imminent – and a cheaper variant soon. It slots between the Kona Electric and Ioniq 5 in Hyundai’s BEV line-up, and features a single, front motor making 160kW and 310Nm.

KGM’s Actyon petrol-electric hybrid medium SUV arrived last month from $48,000 + ORC. Two grades, K50 and K60, both powered by same turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine with dual electric motors putting a combined 150kW/300Nm to the front wheels. No AWD.
Model: EV9 - GT
Kia’s up-spec, high-performance GT version of EV9 large SUV line-up is priced from $129,250 + ORC. The big AWD has impressive credentials starting with a 374kW/740Nm dual motor drivetrain, a more assertive appearance, and adaptive, electronically controlled suspension.

Model: Navara
New gen’ Navara, based on the current Mitsubishi Triton, arrives as dual-cab only with four grades. Priced from $53,348 + ORC, Nissan says the locally fettled turbocharged 2.4-litre diesel and six-speed automatic combination is set to build on the legacy of its predecessors.

Updated Nissan X-Trail arrives with more colours, trim options, and wheel designs alongside added telematics functionality, improved 360-degree camera tech, and longer service intervals. Styling is tweaked, cabin materials and tech improved, and Connected Car Services added.
Model: RAV4
Toyota’s gen’ six RAV4 launch rolls on with the expected arrival of HEVs punctuated by steep price rises and reduced power for the carryover hybrid powertrain. Gruntier PHEV variants are months away. Prices are from $45,990 + ORC for the FWD drive GX base model.
Model: Trafic
Renault’s Trafic van scores a round of tech upgrades for MY26 for improved fuel economy and lower emissions, a new nine-speed automatic transmission, increased towing capacity, and adaptive cruise control on higher-grade variants. Prices start at $52,990 + ORC in SWB guise.
Model: Scenic - E-Tech
Incoming fully electric Renault Scenic E-Tech medium SUV is available in three grades priced from $55,990 + ORC for the Techno EV60. As per Euro-spec’, the model will be offered Down Under with a choice of two battery capacities and two electric motor outputs.
Model: Jimny
Production pause on Japan-built Jimny 3-Door compact SUV ends this month ushering in revisions including improved ADR compliance, extra safety kit and tech, and a price rise. Jimny and Jimny Lite are available, the former with five-speed manual or optional four-speed auto.

Isuzu’s “Ready‑to‑Work” light truck range gains innovative safety features, a sleek new cab design, and driving efficiencies including a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission and tighter 9.6m turning circle. Available in multiple body configurations, most car licence compatible.

Released: Feb 2026
The Iveco Daily is available as a van or cab-chassis and is known for its durable ladder-frame construction. Power is from a turbocharged 3.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine with up to 132kW/430Nm. Offers 3500kg braked towing, eight-speed automatic, or six-speed manual.
Model: Tank - 300 Hybrid
A plug-in, NVES-friendly version of the rugged Tank 300 with Hi4-T PHEV tech’ features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol paired with an electric motor and delivering 300kW/750Nm. Retains low-range capability, locking differentials, and 3000kg braked towing.

Third generation Scudo returns after an 11-year absence in two body lengths and in two trim grades priced from $48,490 + ORC. Power is from a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel delivering 110kW/370Nm to the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Model: Sealion 5 - PHEV
Sets a new benchmark as the most affordable PHEV in the Australian market priced from $33,990 + ORC. Focus is on customer value, emissions reduction, low running costs, and all-round practicality. Offered Essential and Premium grades with DM-i Super Hybrid System.
Model: EV4
Kia’s fully electric BYD Seal and Telsa Model 3 rival is priced from $49,990 + ORC in three trim grades. All are front-wheel drive sharing much of its 400-volt driveline with the EV3 small SUV. Driving range varies from 456km to 612km (WLTP) depending on trim grade.
Model: EV6
Features exterior and interior design changes, further advancements in comfort and convenience, a larger battery for improved range, and an enhanced chassis tune. Updated for 2026, the Kia EV6 is priced from $72,660 + ORC – or just $70 more than before.
Model: S6 EV
MG’s mid-sized electric SUV may arrive this month positioned above the MG 4 and MG 5 and utilising a 77kWh battery for up to 530km of WLTP driving range. With a spacious interior and a five-star safety rating, it is offered as a single- or dual-motor variant with pricing to be advised.
Model: Qashqai
Nissan has updated its Qashqai e-Power SUV range adding specification and a new entry ST-L grade. Now all-hybrid, the range offers buyers improved fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Pricing starts from $45,640 + ORC, with higher grades costing up to $2475 more.

Model: Macan - GTS
The all-electric Macan GTS high-performance SUV offers up to 420kW of power and a dual-motor drivetrain capable of accelerating to 100km/h time of 3.8 seconds. A 100kWh battery is fitted, as is lowered air suspension and a sporty rear-biased all-wheel drive system.
Model: Outback
The seventh generation Outback will offer familiar Premium and Touring grades alongside new Wilderness and Wilderness Apex variants. Symmetrical all-wheel drive is standard, joining petrol and turbo-petrol engines. Pricing increase by $4800 to start from $48,990 + ORC.
Model: Vitara
New generation, new energy Vitara duo is tipped for arrival in February, introducing hybrid power to the range for the first time in Australia. Details are scant, but suggest small capacity turbocharged petrol engines with electric assistance, alongside a likely all-electric model.

Revised CATL batteries and extensive technology updates headline the updated Polestar 2 range. Driving range improves to 554km (WLTP), while equipment and amenity lists lengthen. Despite the changes, pricing is uncharged from $62,400 + ORC.
Model: RX - 450h Luxury
Lexus will introduce its plug-in hybrid RX 450h+ Luxury AWD as a cheaper alternative to the existing Sports Luxury grade. Available from $105,350 + ORC the variant outputs 227kW of combined power from dual electric motors and a 2.5-litre petrol engine.
Model: J5
The Jaecoo J5 electric SUV delivers 155kW/288Nm from its single electric motor to offer a driving range of up to 402km. In Summit trim it comes generously equipped with an introductory drive-away price of $36,990.
Model: Ducato
Updated for 2026, the Fiat Ducato Series 2 van range offers a familiar 132kW/450Nm turbocharged 2.2-litre four-cylinder diesel engine and choice of three wheelbases alongside revised infotainment and safety technologies. Pricing starts from $57,500 + ORC.

The upper large seven-seat Denza B8 SUV features a combined turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and PHEV driveline delivering 450kW/760Nm. With all-wheel drive and a 3500kg braked towing capacity, the two-grade range is priced from $91,000 + ORC.

Powered by a similar driveline as the related BYD Shark 6, the five-seat Denza B5 large SUV combines a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol with PHEV assistance to output 400kW/760Nm. Two model grades are available with pricing from $74,990 + ORC.
