Another in the ‘maybe’ basket this month is the newly developed Ineos Grenadier. Small numbers of this tough, BMW-powered off-roader are rolling off the assembly line priced from an expected $84,500 plus ORCs.

Due to lob this month in SE D300 diesel and SE P400 petrol formats, and in five- or eight-seat configuration, the long wheelbase Landy will be priced from between $124,150 and $131,650 plus ORCs.

Scores a suite of upgrades accompanied by modest price increases of between $1640 and $1895. No changes have been announced for the two all-electric UX300e variants. Pricing for petrol models starts from $46,085 plus ORCs.

Subtle but significant enhancements have been made to ES250 and ES300h sedans following a more substantials update last year. Price increases of between $520 and $990 bring more technology and safety items. Prices start at $62,140 plus ORCs.

New Range Rover derivatives with extended-range plug-in hybrid powertrains are due this quarter, possibly as early as October. The line-up is expected to be priced from $229,200 plus ORCs for the ‘entry’ grade variant.
Model: Leaf
The 2023 Leaf electric car is priced from $50,990 plus ORCs, around $1000 more than previous model. It offers revised frontal styling, a new wheel design and additional technology including an exterior sound projection pedestrian alert.

EQB250 and EQB350 variants, priced from $87,000 plus ORCs, and the all-new EQA350 4Matic, priced from $96,900 plus ORCs, range of all-electric compact SUVs are already in dealerships.

Committed drivers can now specify a six-speed manual in GR Supra or an eight-speed auto at no extra cost. In Supra GT form that’s $87,000 and in the GTS trim it’s $97,000 plus ORCs, a $500 increase over the outgoing range.
Model: Forester
Additional 2023 Forester stock has arrived for delivery during the fourth quarter of 2022 and may be in showrooms by October. The update is barely noticeable, however, with the only real point of difference being a $1900 price increase. The range kicks off at $37,890 plus ORCs.

Talk about anticipation. Toyota’s new gen’ GR86 sports coupe lobs September in GT and GTS, with the new 2.4-litre engine and improvements across the board. Priced between $35-40,000 + ORC.

No pricing but this is the “all-new” S-Cross small SUV from Suzuki… with carry-over components. Runs 1.4-litre BOOSTERJET turbo engine, coupled with an ALLGRIP SELECT 4X4 System.

Buyers snapped up 500 ZS EVs early this year with a $500 discount on ChargeHub wall-charging station. Price is $46,990 D/A for the well-equipped small SUV with a 130kW/280Nm (320km range).

Small SUV joins Haval’s larger H6 Hybrid as the second New Energy Vehicle in the importer’s range. Uses 1.5-litre hybridised petrol engine to deliver outputs of 139kW and 375Nm. From $40,990 D/A.

Plenty of info’ is circulating on new Z built on 370Z’s platform with a 298kW, turbo 3.0-litre, twin turbo, petrol Infinity V6. Whooshdah. Apparently more a cruiser than a scalpel. From $72,600.
Model: G70 - EV
A medium large, luxury SUV, fully electric with the 360kW dual motor set up from GV60 EV. Has e-Terrain mode and camera adaptive suspension. Pricing between $105-115,000.
Model: G80 - Electrified
Genesis adds electron power to its local line up including big, handsome GV80 EV four door sedan with everything that opens and shuts and dual electric motor performance. Price is $145,000 + ORC.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD Techniq has constrained availability with a further 120 units filtering through in August. The striking pure EV goes for $77,900 +ORC, less for FWD version.

Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is here mid-month with the smart new exterior, revised plug-in hybrid powertrain and extra features. A four model range spans $54,590 to $68,490+ORC.
Nissan Z will launch this month though no firm date has been announced. Has 3.0-litre, 298kW, V6 twin turbo engine from Infiniti… should make it a cracker. $73,300 +ORC.

Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo is a specced-up tiddler from Skoda offering plenty of black hardware and power from a turbo 1.5 petrol engine driving through a 7 DSG gearbox. It’s $37,990 drive away.

Volvo XC40 arrives this month in hybrid petrol/electric and pure EV form only so no solely ICE cars at all. Prices rise $4500 to $5500 model dependent starting with XC40 Plus B4 FWD at $52,990+ORC.

Jumping the gun here a touch but the safer, smarter and more luxurious revised Hyundai Palisade with the biggest grille in the world arrives August 1.

GWM Haval Australia will introduce the coupe-styled GT version of its H6 medium SUV range this month, with the same 150kW/320Nm driveline found in other H6 derivatives.

Ford’s new Ranger arrives this month priced $35,930 + ORC for the base 4x2 while the flagship Raptor – now with gutsy turbo-petrol V6 – is $85,490 + ORC.
Cupra has scheduled July 21 for a “range launch” in Australia, with the pre-sold advance guard comprising flagship VZx specification of the Leon, Formentor and Ateca models.

Audi has released pricing and specifications for its RS3 Sportback and sedan range. The sizzling 294kW five-cylinder duo is available from this month from $91,400 + ORC for the Sportback.

The 35 TDI – initially offered as a limited edition – is the new entry-level Audi Q5 variant. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel with 12V mild-hybrid tech and said to consume 4.8L/100km.
The Ingolstadt-based brand’s flagship SUV siblings have returned to the local market, but this time powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor that delivers peak outputs of 373kW and 770Nm.
Ford is accepting orders for its new Ranger and its Raptor flagship. Priced from $35,930, the ute range is available in single-, Super- and double-cab guises (as pick-ups and as cab chassis).

Festooned with black detailing, the Jeep Compass Night Eagle ($39,950, plus on-road costs) has replaced the Launch Edition as the entry-level variant of the American brand’s small SUV range.

Honda is launching two variants of its new, more spacious HR-V – the entry-level Vi X (powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engine) and the e:HEV L – a dual-motor petrol-electric hybrid.

BMW Australia has added a third range to its BEV line-up. Based on the 4 Series Gran Coupe, the i4 eDrive40’s electric motor drives its rear wheels, while the M50 has two motors… and 400kW.

BMW has added the Sport Line to its 118i hatch, 218i Gran Coupe, plus 320i and 330e sedans, replete with upgraded in-car technology, larger wheels and exclusively black exterior finishes.

Genesis has tweaked its G20 large sedan’s line-up, which now comprises 2.5- and 3.5-litre turbo-petrol variants. Sport and Sport Line trim grades, plus an upgraded Luxury Package, are optional.
Model: H6 - Hybrid
The H6 range is now headlined by a 179kW/530Nm petrol-electric Hybrid variant, which features a similar specification to the H6 Ultra, but is said to consume 5.2L/100km (ADR combined cycle).

Hyundai’s seven-seat Santa Fe SUV has been upgraded for 2022, with the revised range receiving extensive safety, comfort and convenience upgrades – as well as modest price increases.
Model: C-Class
Mercedes-Benz’s W206-generation C-Class offers more interior space, 48V mild-hybrid turbo-petrol motors, many new onboard technologies and standard AMG Line exterior and interior trim.
Model: Macan
The Macan T plugs the gap between entry-level and S variants in Porsche’s medium SUV range; it has a lowered suspension, plus bespoke technical-, as well as exterior and interior specifications.

Mitsubishi has slightly reduced the standard spec levels of its Outlander medium SUV’s ES, LS and Aspire variants and increased the asking prices of the Exceed and Exceed Tourer versions.

Now priced from $82,160 (plus on-road costs), the MY22 Patrol upper large SUV features a mildly updated look (limited to a revised grille, new frontal emblem and reshaped fender vents).

Peugeot Australia has added a GT Sport variant to its 5008 range and announced spec upgrades – and price increases – for its 2008, 3008, 508 and 5008 models, as well as its range of LCVs.

Ford’s revised light hot hatch has updated frontal styling, standard Performance Pack additions, 12-way electrically adjustable sports seats and a torquer 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor.

Premium brand Genesis has updated its GV80 luxury SUV with an increase in specification, a refreshed colour palette, as well as a premium six-seat option for all-wheel-drive derivatives.
Model: H6
GWM Haval has launched two range-topping H6 Vanta derivatives (in two- and all-wheel-drive guises). The limited-run Vantas feature 19-inch black alloy wheels with a matching grille finish.
Model: EV6
Kia’s first dedicated BEV offers a locally tuned suspension, a long-range battery pack and comes liberally equipped with luxury- and safety spec. Initial line-up comprises Air and GT-Line variants.

Mazda Australia now offers its 2.5-litre petrol engine on all front-wheel-drive versions of the CX-8, while the 2.2-litre turbodiesel motor does duty on high-spec two- and all-wheel-drive derivatives.
Model: Range Rover Evoque - PHEV
Land Rover Australia has launched the Range Rover Evoque P300e plug-in hybrid, which is said to have an all-electric range of 62 km and a fuel consumption figure as low as 2.0L/100km.

Subaru has refreshed its Outback SUV for 2022 and added a Premium Special Edition, replete with heated rear outboard seats, a powered tailgate and “a few special extras”, to the range.

Subaru Australia has sold out its first consignment second-generation BRZ units and has now commenced deliveries of the elemental rear-wheel-drive, flat-four-engined sportscar.
Skoda is rolling out Style 4x4 and Sportline 4x4 derivatives of its Kodiaq large SUV, replete with cosmetic and detail updates. A flagship RS 4x4 with a 180kW turbo-petrol motor will follow soon.
The Hiroshima-based brand’s subtly updated CX-5 medium SUV is now available in six trim grades, two transmission choices, four engines and the choice of front- and all-wheel drive.

Mazda offers its MY22 MX-5 roadster in 2.0-litre guise only, while the range gains Kinematic Posture Control suspension technology, new trim and paint options, as well as safety upgrades.

Following the lead of its development partner Isuzu, Mazda has updated its BT-50 pick-up truck for the 2022 model year with more variants, more standard features and a new engine choice.

Mitsubishi has added a pair of 4x2 derivatives (GLX and GLS) to lower the entry price point to its large SUV range for MY22, as well as a GSR 4×4 flagship replete with black exterior detailing.

The second-generation Lexus NX range comprises 2.5-litre petrol, 2.4-litre turbo-petrol, petrol-electric hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants and is available in two- and all-wheel-drive guises.
