New plug-in hybrid dual-cab utility from GWM is offered in two grades, the model “to set a new yardstick in performance, range, and capabilities for electrified vehicles in the utility segment”. Claimed all-electric driving range of up to 110km, powertrain good for 300kW/750Nm.

GWM’s refreshed-for-2025 one tonner arrives complete with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel from the Cannon Alpha producing 135kW/480Nm. Revised pricing (some lower, some higher), 3500kg towing, nine-speed auto, range-wide four-wheel drive paired with redesigned interior and exterior styling.

Gains a 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine rated at 135kW and 480Nm along with mild styling changes in four grades of dual cab 4x4 spec’ only. Other improvements made to the upgraded interior, tech offering and the 9-speed auto.

Large(ish) GWM Cannon Alpha sits size-wise between Cannon and Ford F-150 to be offered with a choice of 2.0-litre turbo-petrol hybrid or 2.4-litre turbo-diesel drivelines lifted from elsewhere in the Chinese manufacturer’s line up.

As GWM’s flagship, off-road-biased diesel dual-cab one-tonner, the XSR has selectable 4x4 (in H and L-range) front and rear diff locks, Crawl Mode and Turn Assist. Diesel engine outputs 120kW/400Nm.
