Make: Toyota

Model: Kluger

Released: Mar 2014

Toyota’s big Kluger will be even bigger when the all-new third generation arrives in February 2014. Australian-spec versions will continue to be petrol-only with Toyota favouring the 3.5-litre V6 instead of a diesel. Expect better fuel economy and performance from the popular seven-seat family SUV.

Make: Subaru

Model: WRX

Released: Mar 2014

Subaru’s all-new WRX boy racer will share the Imprezza’s platform but little else with its small car sibling when it arrives in 2014. The new model maintains a vaguely similar look to the WRX concept from the 2013 New York motor show, but has lost some of the sexy lines.

Make: BMW

Model: 2 Series

Released: Mar 2014

BMW’s 1 Series coupe and cabriolet range becomes the 2 Series for its second generation. One 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine and three 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol units will be available mated to either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic while the xDrive all-wheel drive system will be an option.

The third-generation Toyota Kluger is expected to be larger and more fuel-efficient than before, largely thanks to a new six-speed automatic transmission.

Make: Kia

Model: Pro_cee'd - GT

Released: Mar 2014

Australia will be the first market outside of Europe to get Kia’s awkwardly named Pro_Cee’d GT hot hatch when it lands in local showrooms in early 2014. The pocket rocket is powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine producing 150kW of power and 265Nm of torque and is good for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 7.7 seconds.

Make: BMW

Model: 4 Series - Convertible

Released: Mar 2014

The 3 to 4 Series revolution continues with BMW launching its drop-top 4 Series mid-year. The convertible Bimmer features a sound-absorbing headliner that reduces wind noise by up to 2dB, while the metal roof takes around 20 seconds to lower. A three-setting neck warmer built into the headrests is one of the many available options.

Make: Skoda

Model: Octavia - RS

Released: Mar 2014

The third-generation Octravia RS is set to be more powerful and more fuel-efficient than the outgoing model. The go-fast Skoda will be mechanically similar to the Volkswagen Golf GTI, but rumoured to be priced a little lower.

Make: Porsche

Model: Panamera - Turbo S

Released: Mar 2014

Porsche’s most powerful Panamera yet – the Turbo S – arrives early in the year with a 420kW/750Nm 4.8-litre twin-turbo V8 that has a top speed of 310km/h, although the new model maintains the same 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds.
