Since the VZ V8 models don’t score the new Alloytech HFV6 engines, their changes are more cosmetic.
However the venerable GEN III 5.7-litre engine’s outputs were raised to 250kW/470Nm. As before a four-speed auto or six-speed manual gearbox was available.
The VZ SS facelift is slight, and includes a larger Holden symbol in the bigger grille, a new bonnet, body-coloured lower facia, rockers, décor panel and bumpers, silver chrome bezels, taller taillights with semi-opaque lens and banded reverse and turn indicators.
The SS includes twin horizontal row of halogen parking lamps, a larger Holden symbol in the grill, an all-new rear lamp treatment, chrome mudguard/fender vents, jewelled, black-bezelled projector headlights, fog-lights with free-form reflectors, new rear spoiler with aero foils on the underside and twin chrome exhaust tips.
