VN facelift featured recalibrated steering and suspension, clear plastic grille, revised taillight and minor trim changes.
A five-speed manual 3.8-litre V6, refined for the VP series, became the base SS drivetrain from October 1992, to counter the new EB II Falcon XR6. The V6 SS gained air-con but lost the LSD.
New standard features: Air-conditioning, independent rear suspension, power mirrors, central locking, power windows, and improved audio.
Engine options: 165kW 5.0-litre V8.
