The front seatbelts are not adjustable for height and do not have pretensioners, making do with load limiters. In its favour, the MX-5 does have dual airbags as standard. The interior has padding on critical areas and the front pillars and door trims have energy absorbing capacity and contain an inner pad to provide some protection against a side impact.
