Super TestCar reviews - Chrysler - Voyager - SEChrysler modelsTransmission24 Oct 2001 THE Voyager only comes with one engine/transmission package in Australia - the 3.3-litre V6 and a four-speed electronically controlled automatic. The engineers obviously got their sums right when choosing gear ratios because this transmission contributes to the Voyager's surprising sprightliness. Still, it is not low-geared and cruises at only moderate rpm - to assist economy - on the freeway. The transmission is adaptive to driver preferences and will adjust its shift points to suit the style of whoever is behind the wheel. The only downside is the column shifter located on the right (wrong) side of the steering column, which is a legacy of its left-hand drive origins.
