The gear ratios are close, with third and fourth ratios reduced by seven per cent over the S4. The final drive ratio is 4.111:1. A hydraulically operated single dry-plate clutch with asbestos-free lining is used. Though there's no quattro in the title, RS4 does indeed use Audi's torque-sensing four-wheel drive system. All four wheels are driven permanently, with a Torsen self-locking centre differential between the front and rear axles enabling up to two thirds of the engine's power to be diverted to one axle or the other. Did you know?As well as numerous everyday tests in extreme climatic conditions and road endurance tests covering several 100,000km, the RS4 also completed two extensive endurance tests on the racetrack - one over 8,000km on the North Loop of the Nürburgring in Germany and one over 26,000km on the high-speed test bowl in Nardo, ItalyAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
