The ZC was based on the heavily facelifted XW Falcon series.
Adhering to the American fashion of the time, the Fairlane boasted twin stacked headlights, as well as new taillights and even more chrome.
The arrival of the 186kW 5.8L/351 Cleveland V8 option (above the 500’s standard 4.9L V8) and a choice of a 4-speed manual successfully separated the models, kicking sales along nicely.
A quieter ride, bigger brakes, and the availability of air-conditioning also helped. In all 12,513 ZCs were built.
