Super TestCar reviews - Peugeot - 406 - ST HDi sedanPeugeot modelsThe Car26 Apr 2002 THE 406 was styled jointly by an in-house Peugeot team and the Italian styling house Pininfarina. The car is a progression from the 405 model but with more rounded shapes. A large Peugeot lion motif in the centre of the grille provides clear recognition. Styling changes effected in late 1999 gave the car a more contemporary, longer look with a smoother front end and a re-profiled rear deck that assists with boot useability. It's a shape that has aged well, the 406 still comparing favourably from an aesthetic viewpoint with many of its newer mid-sized prestige rivals from Europe.
