Super TestCar reviews - Land Rover - Freelander - ES V6 3-dr wagonLand Rover modelsThe Car31 Aug 2001 THE mechanical upgrade has brought a reshaped and 65mm longer front-end to V6-powered Freelanders, however, the little Landie retains its distinctive, modern appearance and defining features such as the "fast" windscreen angle and the large, protective bumpers and wheelarch mouldings. New paint colours and alloy wheel designs adorn the body, along with revised badging. The front indicator lenses are now clear, blending with the headlamps to give a wider look to the vehicle. The three-door is still instantly recognised by its side profile, notably the thick centre pillar, sharply raked rear pillar and long front doors. The hardback continues with the twin panel "targa roof" above the front seats and the distinctive glass-reinforced polyester hardback, while the soft-back retains its removeable soft canopy.
