Super TestCar reviews - Ford - Falcon Ute - XR6 VCT Pursuit utilityFord modelsResearch Ford Dash23 Jan 2002 A SLIGHT hooded binnacle is built into the overall design of the dashboard, formed by a single contour that encompasses the instrument display and centre control panel. Its shallow extension over the instruments, coupled with the lack of a full-length (sedan) roof in a ute and therefore the proximity of the rear window, means the instrument panel can be obscured by reflections in direct sunlight. The XR instrument display adds oil pressure and voltage gauges to the standard instrument readouts - speedometer, tachometer, fuel and engine temperature. The instrument dials have a blue face with white and red graduations and red needles, while the speedo's increments extend to 240km/h. The Tickford corporate logo is in the centre of the speedo, distinguishing this arrangement as the sports dash.
