A MINOR facelift, new colours and revised trim marked the Series II Matiz.
There were also improvements to refinement, as well as the arrival of a four-speed automatic gearbox option.
But, following General Motors’ bailout of Daewoo in 2002, major shareholder Holden decided to cease the importation of Daewoo-badge models to Australia from January 1 2005.
So while we’re now seeing Daewoo-built Holdens it is unlikely – barring a steep petrol rise-driven demand – that we will see the Matiz Mk2 that was released in Europe during 2005.
