New models - Daewoo - Musso - 5-dr wagonMusso value versionThe Musso gains added extras at no extra cost7 May 2001 DAEWOO has introduced a value-added version of the Musso in a bid to arrest its plummeting sales. The South Korean off-roader notched up just 35 sales until the end of April, compared with 294 for the same period last year. The subtly enhanced Musso gains a new BTR transmission, revised engine management system, reprofiled grille and new six-spoke alloy wheels. Cruise control, better interior trim and an improved stereo are also part of the package. Pricing remains unchanged at $36,990 for the manual and $39,990 for the four-speed auto. Meanwhile, shares in the sales arm of Daewoo Motor rose over 19 per cent on Friday due to renewed speculation about an imminent takeover by General Motors, according to Reuters. The South Korean newspaper Kookmin Ilbo reported GM may set up a new company in South Korea to take over most of Daewoo's assets. The report suggested GM would offer $3.85 billion for the purchase of Daewoo's domestic plants and a few overseas.
