Great formula for Pitt movie hit

APPLE Original Films has secured rights to a Formula 1 racing feature movie to air on its streaming service.

A recent entry into the realm, Apple Original Films has made large inroads into a growing audience base with targeted offerings.

The Pitt F1 movie will be directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), and produced through a collaborative effort between Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment and Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Bruckheimer has earned a reputation as the “car chase” king in movie production with credits like Days of Thunder, Bad Boys and Gone in 60 Seconds all featuring epic car chase scenes.

Kosinski directs this new movie with the help of producer, seven-time Formula 1 champion Sir Lewis Hamilton who intends to inject “authenticity.”  It is not known if Sir Lewis will get behind the wheel or if he will function solely in a supervisory role only.

Academy Award Winner Pitt will star as a driver who comes out of retirement to compete alongside a rookie driver and other more seasoned competitors.

It follows the recent success of earlier F1 biopic movie Rush with Australian Chris Hemsworth, Le Mans movie Ford versus Ferrari and the popular documentary series Formula 1 – Drive To Survive.

This marks Apple Studios’ second feature movie with Pitt and Plan B Entertainment, who are partnering, along with George Clooney’s Smokehouse, on another untitled film starring Pitt and Clooney.

Apple say they offer premium, compelling drama and comedy series, feature films, ground breaking documentaries, and kids and family entertainment on their streaming service.

Apple Original Films recently won an Oscar for Best Picture with “CODA.”

No production schedule for the Brad Pitt Formula 1 movie has been forthcoming to date.
