Priced from $74,500 plus on-road costs – and excluding options – the “extremely capable, compact and feature packed off-road camper trailer” arrives as a rival to competitors including the Jayco J-PodX (from $30,440 +ORC), Golf X265 (from $28,990 +ORC) and Stockman Rover (from $58,500 +ORC).
Manufactured on a tubular steel frame to ensure no weak points, the ARB Earth Camper is said to offer “consistent strength along interior and exterior surfaces” and “offers superior resistance to flexing under load”.
The camper trailer rides on an ARB-designed and engineered suspension system ARB says is built to “traverse any terrain”. It features a 900mm long trailing arm arrangement to reduce strain on other suspension components while at the same time offering better traction and a smoother ride.
Damping the coil-spring setup is a pair of vertically mounted and “specifically tuned” Nitrocharger shock absorbers ARB says allow maximum articulation and ride quality. Unlike many competitors, the Earth Camper was designed around the suspension system to provide the best possible ride in all conditions, ARB says, making it “truly fit for purpose”.
The hard-shell body provides ready-to-go accommodation for two adults, accessed via an electrically actuated rear door. The door doubles as a hard floor for the annexe area when required.
Standard interior features include a queen-sized mattress, Sirocco fans, internal lighting, an opening side window, USB-A and -C charging ports, 240-volt power outlets, and multiple storage cubbies. ARB’s stainless steel Slide Kitchen is also incorporated within the design and features a three-burner gas cooktop and integrated sink.
Alongside the Slide Kitchen is a Zero 96-litre fridge/freezer and a pantry, while above the kitchen is fitted a built-in 180-degree awning for protection from sun or rain.
Optionally, the Earth Camper is available with an extensive range of accessories, including a Webasto diesel heater, awning walls, second battery, Redarc Redvision interface and inverter, ensuite room with Joolca Hottap V2 hot water system, air compressor kit, and numerous canvas storage solutions.
ARB also sells a custom-made storage cover for the Earth Camper when not in use.
Option and delivery pricing is available via your nearest ARB stockist. The manufacturer quotes a starting price of $74,500 for Australian east coast metropolitan areas and says its order books are now open.
