Ford recalls new Ranger

Recall: Early examples of the current-shape Ford Ranger Double Cab have been recalled over a rear seat issue

More than 4000 current-shape Ford Ranger dual-cabs recalled

12 Oct 2012

FORD Australia has issued a recall notice on 4258 current-generation Ranger dual cab utes produced between May 23, 2011 and February 13, 2012 over a faulty rear seat latch.

Affected vehicles may have an incorrectly fitted rear-seatback latch that could cause the seat to fall forward – posing a potential risk to occupants. Ford advises drivers not to use a rearward facing child seat until the issue has been rectified.

Customers will be alerted by mail and are advised to contact their local dealer, who will fit a new metal ring to the seat latch. The process is expected to take less than half a day.

GoAuto understands one customer has complained of a faulty rear seat.

For further information, contact any authorised Ford dealer or the Ford Customer Relationship Centre on 1800 503 672.
