New models - Subaru - Forester - Special EditionSubaru lobs special edition Outback, ForesterOutback, Forester special editions give popular Subarus a spec lift for modest money6 May 2024 ARRIVING now at Subaru dealers across Australia are two special-edition Subarus consisting of the Outback AWD Premium priced from $47,190 excluding on-road costs and the Forester 2.5i Luxury AWD from $39,690 excluding on-road costs.
Both specials come with additional features and, according to Subaru Australia, “expand the choices available to Australian customers”.
The new additions lob as Subaru has embarked on a number of promotions offering enticements to potential customers including, for short periods: $1000 free fuel, free rego and CTP, five years of roadside assist and $500 of free genuine Subaru parts along with limited editions all in the mix.
It has enjoyed a degree of success target-marketing cars such as the WRX Club Spec limited edition that sold out quickly as eager buyers snapped up the sporty model with extra desirable features.
The 150 examples produced for the Australian market were all spoken for within little more than a month.
Subaru Australia is maintaining station in the 2024 sales race, tracking only a hundred or so cars less than at the same time last year but sales in April jumped considerably – driven by strong marketing activities by the Japanese brand’s Australian distributor Inchcape.
The latest hook applies to two of the company’s most popular models, offering buyers in-demand features packaged into special editions based on lower-spec variants for a short time.
Both the Outback and Forester have consistently been among the top-selling Subaru models in Australia, “captivating consumers with their exceptional driving dynamics, advanced infotainment technology, comprehensive safety features, and overall driver comfort,” according to Subaru Australia.
The Outback AWD Premium Special Edition is available in all external Outback colours except Brilliant Bronze Metallic, the model building on the AWD entry level variant with additional features including black Nappa leather-accented seat trim, heated front and rear outboard seats, native satellite navigation and hands-free powered tailgate.
Based on the Forester 2.5i AWD, the Luxury AWD Special Edition adds black leather-accented seat trim and plusher cabin trim from the high-spec Forester 2.5i-S including upgraded dash panel accents, centre console and door panel trim. It is available in Crystal White Pearl, Ice Silver Metallic, Horizon Blue Pearl and Magnetic Grey Metallic external paint finishes.
Subaru Australia general manager Scott Lawrence said: “Both Subaru Outback and Forester continue to capture the hearts of Australian families, thanks to their excellent ride quality, advanced safety features and overall driving comfort coupled with the convenience of multi-terrain capability for those spontaneous adventures.
“We are delighted to introduce these two special editions which build on the already incredible value these two models represent and offer our customers more options to choose from.”
As with the WRX Club Spec, Subaru Australia is expecting a rapid uptake of both Outback and Forester special editions as value propositions slotting in one step up from the entry level models but offering a higher level of standard equipment.
