Updated BMW M3 priced ahead of Q4 arrival

Mild revisions and price increases for BMW M3 range, now from $163,700 + ORC

2 Jul 2024

BMW Australia has announced pricing of its updated MY25 M3 range ahead of expected showroom arrivals in the fourth quarter of this year.

With list price increases of up to $3700, the M3 sedan and wagon range now commences from $163,700 plus on-road costs.

Importantly, the range-topping M3 Competition xDrive gains a 15kW increase in power while all variants receive a freshened cabin design, new-look alloy wheels, and LED adaptive headlights.

With the update comes news that BMW Australia has trimmed the M3 range to just three variants, the mid-tier rear-wheel drive M3 Competition no longer available. The MY25 range now offers a ‘base’ grade sedan (with manual transmission) and M3 Competition xDrive grade in sedan and wagon (Touring) formats.

Power for the M3 remains unchanged at 353kW and torque at 550Nm, the rear-wheel drive model utilising a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine and six-speed manual gearbox combination for a claimed 0-100km/h time of 4.2 seconds. Fuel economy is listed at 10.1 litres per 100km.

The hard-charging M3 Competition, meanwhile, extracts 390kW (+15kW) and 650Nm (unchanged) from the same powerplant, and runs all-wheel drive via an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 0-100km/h standard is dealt with in just 3.5 seconds (or 3.6 seconds for the Touring). Fuel consumption is listed at up to 10.4L/100km.

Impressively, the M3 Competition xDrive duo further boast impressive 0-200km/h times with the sedan now hitting that mark in 11.8 seconds and the Touring in 12.4 seconds – an improvement of 0.5 seconds in both cases.

As was the case for the recently updated MY25 BMW 3 Series range, the M3 line-up gains a new 8.5 generation infotainment system operating software, alongside a ‘Luxury’ instrument panel (M3 only).

Optionally, the range is available with 19-inch forged alloy wheels ($2000), Merino leather upholstery ($1000), carbon-ceramic brakes ($19,000), M carbon-fibre seats ($10,000), flat-bottom M Alcantara steering wheel ($1000), and M carbon exterior package ($9500 Sedan / $8500 Touring).

Premium paint colours are standard excluding Dravit Grey and Tanzanite Blue ($2500). BMW Individual Frozen finishes attract a $7500 premium.

Standard safety equipment is extensive, and includes driver aids such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, front and rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and tyre pressure monitoring.

Initial Australian deliveries of the MY25 BMW M3 range are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2024.
