New models - BMW - AlpinaAlpina B3 GT range, B4 Gran Coupe pricedMore power, revised looks for updated Alpina B3 GT Sedan, Touring, B4 GT Gran Coupe4 Jul 2024 ALPINA has announced pricing for its updated B3 GT Sedan and Touring range, and B4 GT Gran Coupe, the trio headed for Australian showrooms at the end of this year priced from $181,900 plus on-road costs.
Adding more power, revised transmission mapping, and chassis adjustments reflecting those of the updated BMW 3 Series, the Alpina range offers an additional 25kW over the outgoing range, now delivering 389kW and 790Nm from its 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged inline six-cylinder petrol engine.
Transmission duties continue from a ZF-sourced eight-speed automatic which has been tuned to shave 0.2 seconds from the 0-100km/h times of the B3 GT Sedan and Touring, and B4 GT Gran Coupe – now 3.4-, 3.5-, and 3.5 seconds respectively.
Alpina said the uptick in power and remapped transmission further allow the range faster 0-200km/h times (11.6-, ,12.0-, and 11.9 seconds respectively) while also elevating top speeds to as high as 308km/h.
Fuel consumption is listed at 10.5 litres per 100km on the ADR Combined cycle.
Handling is further enhanced by a Alpina’s own strut braces and a chunkier rear sway bar which joins a new four-way damping configuration, stiffer rear damper mounts and a sport differential. Other chassis changes are limited to those outlined previously for BMW’s updated 3 Series range.
Visually, the Alpina GT range is characterised by bespoke 20-inch alloys, additional aerodynamic elements – including a gloss black rear diffuser, aluminium paddle shifts, black exhaust tips, engine bay plaque, GT sill plate lettering and head restraints, and model-specific steering wheel.
Otherwise, equipment is largely reminiscent of the BMW models on which the Alpina B3 GT and B4 GT are based, including BMW Connected Package Professional, 14.9-inch digital instrument cluster, head-up display, keyless entry and ignition, power adjustable front sport seats with heating, a heated steering wheel, leather upholstery, and a 16-speaker harman kardon audio system.
“Both the B3 GT and B4 GT, with now even more power and torque, ensure plenty of driving pleasure,” said Alpina Australia national sales manager Phil Jeffery.
“Alpina B3 and B4 models are very successful in Australia and the GT models will build on this success.”
