New models - BMW - 7 Series - rangeSwansong for 7 Series as BMW spruiks specialsFinal fling for BMW's E65 before redesigned 7 Series sedan flagship arrives in 200815 Jun 2007 WITH a new BMW 7 Series due to appear in 2008, the current E65 model receives its final upgrade in Australia, including the addition of two new model variants. As the names suggest, the new 7 Series Executive is designed for comfort while the Sport edition is more dynamic. The Executive package includes 19-inch wheels and a number of items from the Individual menu, including Alcantara headlining and rear parcel shelf, extended high-grade Merino leather upholstery and a wood-trimmed steering wheel. The Sport edition features 20-inch Y-spoke alloys, anthracite roof lining, Merino leather upholstery and piano black interior features, and includes the previously available Sport package (suspension control and seats). These packages add between $7000 and $12,000 to the price, depending on the model to which they are applied (740i, 740Li, 750i and 750Li). BMW Australia claims the cost is about half their retail value. In other BMW news, the company has extended its warranty for buyers of BMW Premium Selection used vehicles via "Service Inclusive" - in which a minimum of one complimentary service for every 12 months (or 25,000km) of the warranty period is guaranteed. Customers can opt to take out either a 12 or 24-month extension, the latter giving customers 36 months of BMW warranty, 36 months of roadside assistance and 36 months/75,000km of complimentary scheduled servicing - which guarantees a minimum of three scheduled services. Also, customers who purchase a 6 Series under the BMW Premium Selection program will now enjoy the same benefits as 7 Series (Platinum) customers, who benefit from a 24-month factory warranty, BMW Roadside Assistance and two complimentary scheduled services within the 24-month/50,000km warranty period. Age and mileage restrictions apply to BMW Premium Selection used cars, which comprise the entire BMW range - from 1 Series to 7 Series, Z3 to Z4 and X3 to X5 - and must adhere to strict selection criteria. This includes a rigorous 100-point inspection, the verification of a full BMW service history and the fitment of only genuine BMW factory items by authorised BMW dealers.
