Polestar Concept BST makes Goodwood debut

Latest Goodwood concept from Polestar designed to push limits of EV performance

12 Jul 2024

POLESTAR has debuted its Polestar 6 based Concept BST electric sportscar at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.

Joining 2, 3, 4 and 6 variants at the prestigious event, the BST Concept sports 22-inch alloy wheels, striking silver paint, a stubby body with wild aerodynamic elements and race-inspired livery.

Polestar did not comment on specifications or outputs, saying simply the model turns the dial up to 11.

“Now we are a brand with three models in production, it is great to see them here together for the first time at a global event,” said Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath.

“(The) Goodwood Festival of Speed is full of the most exciting cars and the most enthusiastic crowds, so it is the perfect place for us to tease our Polestar Concept BST.

“This car is a demonstration of how far we can push our performance brand – Polestar turned up to 11, if you will – and a demonstration of how we could apply the BST formula to our line-up in the future.”

Concept BST features alongside the regular ‘6’ concept, which will also make demonstration runs up Goodwood’s famous Hill Climb over the course of the event.

The roadster model is underpinned by the same platform as the Polestar 5, and like that model utilises a bespoke bonded aluminium body, “representing the pinnacle of the Polestar line-up”.

Due to commence production towards the end of 2025, the Polestar 6 is expected to feature an 800-volt electrical architecture and dual-motor drivetrain developing some 650kW and 900Nm. Polestar previously quoted an expected 0-100km/h time of 3.2 seconds.

Along with the striking blue exterior, the first batch of Polestar 6s will feature a light blue leather interior and 21-inch wheels inspired by the original Polestar O2 concept that was influenced by aerospace design, both aesthetically and aerodynamically.

GoAuto understands the Polestar 6 is destined for Australia with a release date sometime in 2026. The 2+2 format roadster is yet to be priced, though it is expected there won’t be much change left from $300,000.
