Details firm for updated i30 N hatch

HYUNDAI Australia has released further details of its updated i30 N hot hatch, the model range due in Australia before the end of the year with increased safety and technology equipment aimed at keeping it ahead of the competition.

For the MY25 update, we find safety equipment from elsewhere in the Hyundai range including driver attention warning, updated forward collision avoidance assist, intelligent speed limit assist, multi-collision braking, rear occupant alert, and rain-sensing wipers now offered as standard.

Further, the i30 N hatch scores an update to its infotainment array, adding a 10.25-inch Supervision digital instrument panel and 10.25-inch media touchscreen to the deal. Additional track-oriented readouts are offered, mirroring those found in the i30 N Sedan, as is a refreshed interior with suede-and-Alcantara clad N sport seats.

Hyundai Bluelink connected car services (with over-the-air update compatibility) features are further extended to include automatic collision notification, emergency call function, connected routing with live traffic updates, an alert services suite, remote control of climate and selected vehicle functions, navigation send-to-car, voice control, and vehicle settings management.

Externally, the MY25 Hyundai i30 N hatch is characterised by 19-inch forged alloy wheels in matte grey, updated mesh-style grille, red garnishing on the front bumper inlays and sill skirts, and a matte black ‘H’ logo at the rear.

Under the bonnet the i30 N is unchanged with the same mechanical package as before. Power continues to come from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol unit developing 206kW of power and 392Nm of torque. It is available with a six-speed manual gearbox or eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, both of which transmit drive to the front wheels.

For 2025, the i30 N further adds Hyundai’s Grin Shift button, essentially an overboost feature offering 20 seconds of added power – and as already offered in the i30 N Sedan.

“These key updates are about improving the Hyundai i30 N formula, without changing the fundamentals,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia chief executive officer Ted Lee.

“While the i30 N has always been about maximising performance and fun, these improvements focus on delivering key safety and technology updates, adding to the well-rounded nature of this accessible and exciting performance vehicle.”
