The 1998 introduction of a slightly larger engine – now a 67kW/126Nm 1.6 – was accompanied by a mild facelift which gave the Pyzar a different and more pleasant nose plus new trim packages.
In this guise the Pyzar was a quirky, capable small car that managed to easily fit into its intended role as a city-dweller's practical holdall.
Along with the Sirion of the time, it proved to be one of Daihatsu’s better runabouts.
