Road TestCar reviews - Saab - 9-3 - 1.9TiD Vector Sport sedanSaab modelsOverviewDiesel din aside, Saab's new 9-3 TiD sedan is a comfortable and economical cruiser1 Feb 2008 SAAB'S updated and expanded 9-3 range offers no fewer than 48 variants across sedan, wagon and convertible forms, including optional E85 engines across the 9-3 range. But 9-3 owners are choosing another ‘green’ option – diesel, which was only introduced last year but now accounts for around 24 per cent of 9-3 sales. Saab will add a new performance diesel with 154kW to its range early this year, which will slot in above the 'cooking-variety' 1.9-litre diesel with 110kW and 320Nm (as tested here). The exterior styling of the 9-3 features all-new bodywork from the A-pillar forward, as well as new head and tail-lights and doorhandles. Only minor changes have been made to the interior, which was upgraded in the previous update.
