Peugeot uses Bosch's latest 5.3 ABS system for state of the art braking on all 406 models. The system works in conjunction with Peugeot's new electronic brake force distribution system (EBFD) to ensure braking power is distributed appropriately according to conditions and can actually relieve some of the load on the ABS because of this. Front wheels use ventilated discs, while the rear brakes are solid discs.
