Most apparent is the new multi-function steering wheel, which is coupled to a central display in the instrument cluster where 50 individual functions, such as automatic door locking or mirror adjustment, are housed along with stereo and telephone settings. The steering wheel itself adjusts manually for both reach and height, while a column-mounted stalk is used for indicators and (variable intermittent) wipers. Headlights and foglamps are controlled from a rotary dial on the dash, positioned alongside controls for headlight angle adjustment, external mirrors and the park-brake release. Electric window switchgear is located on the doors. The top row of buttons on the dash fascia includes door lock/unlock, rear headrest control, ESP on/off and the hazard lights. An electric sunroof with memory function, as fitted to our test car, is available as an option.
