At the front they run an independent double wishbone with torsion bar and double acting shock absorber, and at the rear a rigid axle with leaf springs and bias mounted double acting shock absorber. The capacity differs between 4x2 and 4x4 models from 960kg front/1750kg rear on 4x2s to 1150kg front/1840kg rear on 4x4s. The Mazda set-up gives the 4x2 Bravo a ground clearance of 179mm at a total vehicle height of 1615mm. Ride and handling are comparable to other light commercial 4x2s and the Bravos long wheelbase handles well empty or loaded, though as with its competitors the rear-end can have a mind of its own if you start thinking you're in a car and push too hard into corners.
