In accordance with US head impact regulations, ribbed material is utilised in the A and B-pillar trim lining. Shock-absorbing pads are concealed in the roof liner. The steering column features new mounting arrangement to ensure the driver's airbag provides maximum protection in the event of a collision. Safety in side-on collision is aided by impact bars and rear door catcher pins. All outboard passengers have lap-sash seatbelts while there are adjustable headrest for front seat passengers. Front seatbelts are height adjustable but do not have pre-tensioners.
