Super TestCar reviews - Jeep - Grand Cherokee - Limited 5-dr wagonJeep modelsSuspension20 Feb 2001 By BRUCE NEWTON THE Grand Cherokee's suspension uses live axles front and rear, with coils as the springing medium. Very much a "serious" 4WD system, it was redesigned for the current model with a lighter, three-link system at the rear gaining a higher roll centre for reduced cornering lean. The front suspension was redesigned with wider-spaced tie rods for more accurate turn-in and improved on-centre feel. Did you know?Jeep apparently considered, and rejected, the idea of fully independent suspension for the Grand Cherokee in favour of the constant ground clearance and optimum wheel angles delivered by live-axle systemsAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
