Super TestCar reviews - Hyundai - Sonata - GLE sedanHyundai modelsUsed Rivals18 Jun 2003 MITSUBISHI MAGNA 4D SEDAN (1991-1994) THE Magna has the most interior space and the best ride compared to this group of rivals. The big, 2.6-litre four develops enough power and torque to make it relaxing to drive with competitive performance at the expense of higher fuel consumption. The Elite's equipment list is the most comprehensive of this group. TOYOTA CAMRY 4D SEDAN (1993-1994) THE Camry is a good choice for family transport with a combination of near full size interior space, good quality and finish. The trade off is it is not as well equipped as the Sonata. The 2.2-litre engine produces 93kW which puts performance on a par with the Sonata. SUBARU LIBERTY 4D SEDAN (1993-1994) THE Liberty has a similar level of equipment but less interior space than the 626. The 2.2-litre flat-four engine is economical and with 100kW has competitive performance although some people may find the engine noise annoying. The ride, particularly on rougher surfaces, is very good. SAAB 900 4D SEDAN (1987-1990) STYLING is uniquely Saab and stands out in a crowd even though it has been around for some time. Good steering, suspension and brakes made for a safe, balanced and comfortable car. The 2.0- litre, 16-valve, four-cylinder engine produces 92kW, which provides good performance with reasonable economy.
