Super TestCar reviews - Ford - Falcon - XT sedanFord modelsWheels/tyres19 Dec 2002 COMPLIMENTING the new multi-link IRS, refined front suspension and quicker steering rack, 16-inch wheels are standard on Falcon, complete with Dunlop SP Sport 200E rubber measuring 215/60 R16. The bigger steel rims - hidden beneath reasonably convincing seven-spoke plastic wheel covers - combine with a wider rear wheel track to better fill Falcon's rear wheel arches than the Executive's 15-inch items. And, despite the larger wheels, Falcon has now surpassed Commodore in terms of ride comfort. Valve caps are plastic and a full-size spare wheel is strapped under a masonite board under the boot floor lining, with a cantilever jack stowed inside the right rear quarter. Futura and Fairmont models get alloy wheels of the same size (with a steel spare), with 17-inch alloys reserved for XR and Fairmont Ghia. Did you know?BA Falcon was subjected to the equivalent of two million kilometres of on-road customer usage durability testing, plus 1.2 million kilometres of simulated customer road usage and 1.3 million kilometres of simulated customer usage for squeak and rattle testingAll car reviewsAlfa Romeo Abarth Alpine Alpina Audi Aston Martin BMW Bentley Chevrolet Chery Citroen Chrysler Dodge Cupra Ferrari DS Ford Fiat FPV Foton GWM Great Wall Holden Haval HSV Honda Hyundai Hummer Isuzu Infiniti Jeep Jaguar Lamborghini Kia LDV Land Rover Lotus Lexus Maserati Mahindra McLaren Mazda Mercedes-Benz Mercedes-AMG Mini MG Nissan Mitsubishi Peugeot Opel Proton Porsche Renault Ram Rover Rolls-Royce Skoda Saab SsangYong Smart Suzuki Subaru Toyota Tesla Volvo Volkswagen |
