Super TestCar reviews - Chrysler - PT Cruiser - Limited 5-dr wagonChrysler modelsEngine10 Jan 2001 WHILE it would probably be nicer to have a smooth V6, maybe of 2.5-litre capacity, humming away up front in the PT Cruiser, the Neon-based, cast-iron, 2.0-litre four-cylinder does a workmanlike job. It incorporates all the appropriate technology, including twin camshafts, 16 valves and electronic fuel-injection. Its mid-range is acceptable rather than spectacular but it does rev out very cleanly and willingly. At 1412kg, the Cruiser is not exactly light but the engine is able to keep it moving along at a respectable pace.
