BMW shook the luxury car world with its bold E65 7 Series generation back in 2001, ushering in its new design language and iDrive computerised driver interface system, as well as new degrees of dynamic abilities. Family Tree: 7 SeriesBMW's previous-generation E65 7 Series sedan arrived in Australia as a replacement for its E38 forbear in January 2002. Initially available in 735i and 740i short-wheelbase V8 guise, the range was soon extended to include the E66-codenamed, long-wheelbase 735Li and 745Li (August 2002), and then the V12-powered 760Li in May 2003.
