Except that it costs around $20,000 more than the equivalent Q7 SUV, the Allroad TDI quattro has all the ingredients to give premium SUVs a real scare. Even as it is, the Audi is a real luxury segment contender anyway. It was followed in May 2002 by the 132kW/370Nm 2.5-litre turbo-diesel V6 variant, priced at $88,070. Then in January 2004 came the 220kW/380Nm 4.2-litre petrol V8 flagship, priced at $108,900. All were mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, with only the 2.7T coming as a (six-speed) manual, with low-range gear ratios. |
