SsangYong ChairmanW100 Chairman1 Aug 2005 The Chairman is a South Korean-built four-door luxury sedan intended to line up directly against the Ford Fairlane and Holden Statesman. It is underpinned by the 1985 to 1995 W124 Mercedes-Benz E-class platform, meaning that drive is transmitted to the rear wheels. Power comes courtesy of a 3.2-litre six-cylinder engine producing 161kW at 5500rpm, and 309Nm at 3750rpm. The transmission on offer is an electronically controlled five-speed automatic gearbox. The Chairman is well equipped, with standard electronically controlled suspension, climate control air-conditioning, leather interior, a brace of airbags, stability control, parking radar and power-operated windows, seats and mirrors, among other things. |
