Saab 900900 Series I1 Mar 1979 The front-wheel drive 900 was a development of the 1967-vintage 99, which introduced the marque here in late 1971. Longer, lower and safer, the 900 helped cement the Swedish firm in the prestige segment, helped by its solid, functional yet quirky design. Initial 900s arrived in three and five-door hatchback guises. All featured a fuel-injected 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine of either 86kW or 108kW power output - the latter as a result of pioneering turbocharging. Gearbox choices were either a three-speed automatic or four-speed manual. |
