First-gen Genio

Indian car-maker Mahindra introduced its cut-priced Genio ute to the Australian market in June 2012, selling in single- and dual-cab guise.

Powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine matched to a five-speed manual transmission, the Genio produced a miserly 55kW/220Nm.

The Genio came with a 1.25-tonne payload, rear drum brakes and power steering.
