FG Falcon ute

There are few cars that have such a wide spread of capabilities as the Falcon ute.

You can have a bare and basic workhorse that can haul 1240kg in the back or a tyre-searing turbo six or sledgehammer V8 XR performance ute.

The FG utes takes on most of the upgrades that were introduced for its sedan siblings.

It still uses leaf springs, but has new Virtual Pivot Control Link front suspension, new steering system, engine upgrades, new base automatic and manual transmissions and a fresh interior.

There is also a new tonneau cover, a snap-lock style system that looks much better than the stud and elastic loop system it replaces.

The Ute is available with a steel tub rear (Styleside Box) or with a flat tray (Cab Chassis) and its leaf-sprung rear enables it to tow up to 2300kg.

Engines available include the LPG I6, petrol I6, XR6 Turbo petrol I6 and the V8 powered XR8.

Prices start at $27,795 for the base Ute and top out at $38,990 which buys you either the XR6 Turbo or XR8 Ute.
