Chrysler PT CruiserPT Cruiser Series I1 Jul 2000 CHRYSLER’S retro PT Cruiser was a front-wheel drive station wagon based on the PL2000 Neon small car. In fact it predated cars like the Renault Scenic by offering a flexible cabin complete with removable rear seats. But the styling was the big drawcard. Both Classic and up-spec Limited models featured the Neon’s utterly conventional 104kW/186Nm 2.0-litre twin-cam 16-valve four-cylinder engine combined with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic gearbox. Two limited editions followed in 2003 – the Street Cruiser and Touring. All models included air-conditioning, anti-lock brakes, traction control, dual airbags and power windows. For 2005 PT finally got the extra power it deserved – courtesy of a 105kW/214Nm 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine. A Grand Tourer model was also added to the range. Read moreWhen it was new |
