For the final Australian-built Camry, Toyota didn't just give its mid-sized sedan the customary mild facelift, opting instead for a comprehensive all over restyle with only the roof panel unchanged.
Its more head-turning grille hid the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder petrol and hybrid powertrains, and a new mid-range hybrid choice took the Camry line-up to seven.
The other notable addition was a sportier SX variant, which targeted a more youthful audience with the largest wheels fitted to the Camry to date measuring 18 inches, a revised and locally developed suspension setup and quicker steering-ratio.
Interiors got a light refresh with updated information and entertainment system, while the SX was treated to flashy two-tone leather upholstery.
