Kia’s next-generation Soul landed in Australian showrooms in February 2014 with a trimmed down line-up and improvements in ride and handling, and interior quality.
Variant options were limited to just one, the Soul Si, which was powered by a smaller 1.6-litre petrol engine compared with the outgoing models 2.0-litre unit.
However, even though Kia downsized the engine, fuel economy is worsened by the added weight of new equipment. The Kia Soul managed a combined fuel cycle of 7.6 litres per 100 kilometres for the manual and 8.4L/100km in the automatic.
