News - SubaruSubaru takes top Canstar Blue awardAustralian consumers rate Subaru as top automotive brand across eight key categories12 Dec 2023 SUBARU has been voted as Australia’s top automotive brand in the latest Canstar Blue satisfaction ratings.
Taking home the 2023 Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers – New Cars award, the importer was rated five stars across key categories including reliability, driving experience, value for money, features, appearance, upgrades and extras, and overall satisfaction.
The results were awarded following an extensive survey in which Australian Subaru customers provided feedback on vehicles purchased over the past five years.
The winning automotive brand is ultimately determined as the one that achieved the highest overall satisfaction rating once all scores from the overall satisfaction criteria have been tallied and averaged.
“Winning the 2023 Canstar Blue Most Satisfied Customers – New Cars award is a tremendous honour for our expansive nationwide retailer network, comprising 122 Subaru dealerships,” said Subaru Australia managing director, Blair Read.
“This award underscores Subaru’s commitment to our customers’ needs and striving to deliver the best possible ownership experience. It also serves as a testament to Subaru’s relentless pursuit of engineering vehicles to not only meet but exceed the expectations of our customers.”
Notably, Subaru was the only automotive brand in Australia to receive five-star scores for the reliability and driving experience of its cars.
“More than half of Australian new car buyers save up their own hard-earned cash to purchase their vehicle outright and are looking for an upgrade on their existing vehicle, which indicates buyers are keen not just for a good deal but on a car that offers something a little special,” detailed Canstar Blue editor in chief, Christine Seib.
“Subaru delivered just that in 2023, according to its own customers, who gave their new Subaru vehicle top marks for value for money, as well as its features, looks and the upgrades and extras that came with it.
“As the winner of Canstar Blue’s Most Satisfied Customers – New Cars award, Subaru was also the only vehicle manufacturer to receive five stars for the reliability and driving experience of its cars, as well as in the all-important overall satisfaction category.
“Given that the average spend by Aussie consumers on a new car is more than $37,000, this is a purchase that buyers should rightly expect to by satisfied with, and Subaru ensured they were.”
The award comes less than two years after Subaru won the celebrated Roy Morgan Annual Customer Satisfaction Awards – Major Car Manufacturer of the Year (2021).
The Roy Morgan single-source survey boasts 60,000 respondents, making it Australia’s most comprehensive consumer report, consisting of real-world consumers who rate how satisfied they are on a monthly basis.
