Price cuts for Peugeot’s SUVs

Petite Pug price: Both Peugeot SUVs have been given a price chop to bolster sales.

Peugeot 4007 and 4008 models get more equipment for lower prices

8 Apr 2013

PEUGEOT is hoping to bag a bigger share of the booming Australian SUV market by slashing prices of its Mitsubishi-based 4007 and 4008 models.

For a limited time, the 4007 SV seven-seater (based on the superseded Mitsubishi Outlander) sneaks in under the $40,000 mark and, for the first time since its launch last year, the smaller ASX-based 4008 is available for under $30,000.

The 4007 SV now comes with metallic paint and 18-inch alloy wheels as standard – options that would have previously cost an additional $1300.

The added no-cost options and new drive-away pricing represent a claimed $7000 saving over previous 4007 pricing.

Meantime, the 4008 2WD automatic is now $29,990 drive-away, a saving of around $6000 all things considered.

It still comes with a respectable level of standard equipment including a standard rear camera, 2.0-litre four cylinder engine, seven airbags, LED running lights, rear privacy glass, air conditioned glovebox and voice-activated Bluetooth connectivity.

While Peugeot SUV sales can’t quite compete with the big boys, the company did enjoy a 121% SUV sales increase last year.

Peugeot Automobile Australia general manager and director Bill Gillespie said that the 4007 and 4008 deals were to maintain the momentum of last years sales in a competitive segment.
