News - MGMG moves to offer 10-year warrantyChinese importer joins Mitsubishi with decade-long warranty on all new vehicles2 Aug 2024 By MATT BROGAN MG MOTOR has announced that it will now offer a 10-year/250,000km warranty across all its vehicles effective August 1.
Joining Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL) as the only other importer to offer a decade-long vehicle warranty, MG Motor specifies that the 10-year/250,000km guarantee applies only to non-commercial use, with vehicles used for commercial purposes continuing to be covered by a seven-year/160,000km warranty.
The provision covers internal combustion (petrol) engine, battery electric (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV) equally. MG Motor further offers a seven-year/unlimited-kilometre paint and anti-perforation warranty.
In announcing its extended vehicle warranty coverage, MG Motor said a longer warranty period can help to address new-car buyer concerns relating to vehicle quality.
“If you are looking for value and peace of mind from a new car purchase, the length and quality of the factory warranty should be as important as the horsepower,” said MG Motor chief commercial officer Giles Belcher.
“We think that our new 10-year warranty for EV, PHEV, hybrid and petrol range is the best and strongest in market.
“From August, every new MG vehicle purchased in Australia, from the MG3 to the HS, MG4 and more will be covered by what we believe is the strongest factory warranty in the business.
“MG’s 10-year warranty delivers unmatched peace of mind and ensures that you are fully supported on every journey.
“When it comes time for our customers to upgrade their car, we want them to turn to us first. We have a stack of great product in market and more on its way, so we want people to try us sooner than later,” he concluded.
