News - McLarenMcLaren celebrates its diamond anniversaryRange-wide visual upgrades issued to celebrate 60 years of famed marque’s racing heritage2 Nov 2023 By MATT BROGAN McLAREN is set to celebrate its 60th anniversary with a range of visual upgrades across its model range, the exterior and interior flourishes paying tribute to the famed marque’s racing heritage by celebrating its Triple Crown victories at the Indianapolis 500, Le Mans 24 Hour, and Monaco Grand Prix.
The visual package sees three new paint colour options, all inspired by its Triple Crown cars.
First up is Indy Orange, inspired by the 1974 Indy 500-winning McLaren M16D, followed by Monaco White, which was influenced by the McLaren’s win with the MP4/2 at the 1984 Monaro Grand Prix, and finally Le Mans Grey, which pays tribute to the win by McLaren’s F1 GTR in 1995.
A set of Triple Crown stripes will also be offered on the McLaren 750S, but is limited to just 60 cars, ensuring customer exclusivity. Fittingly, the vehicles will be commemorated by a numbered plaque denoting the car’s production position.
Further visual flourishes include a Triple Crown bonnet logo and rear spoiler branding, each bearing the dates of the brand’s famed achievements, and optional brake calliper paint (for 750S, Artura and GT models only) in a choice of Indy Blue or Le Mans Gold. A carbon-fibre steering wheel with Triple Crown paddles is also available, as are “exquisitely machined pedals”.
All new McLaren models may also be ordered with gloss-finished carbon-fibre wing mirrors with 60th Anniversary ‘Speedy Kiwi’ logos in orange or silver, a nod to Bruce McLaren’s original race car mascot.
“Sixty years ago, Bruce McLaren sparked an automotive revolution by founding a company that accepted no compromise, that pushed beyond every limit, and that proudly bears his name today,” said McLaren in a statement.
“From seminal racing cars and ground-breaking road cars to record-smashing victories and industry-changing designs, McLaren has forged a reputation for blazing a bright, singular trail – ripping up the rules and beating benchmarks.
“This spirit, determination and passion defines everything we do, so to celebrate six decades of audacious innovations, we have created the 60th Anniversary Option Range.
“It is a stunning selection of beautifully executed and developed features for your McLaren, from paint finishes that evoke the legendary Triple Crown – a team accolade held only by McLaren – to emotive Speedy Kiwi branded elements and exquisitely machined pedals.
“This is an exclusive and exciting opportunity to celebrate McLaren’s remarkable heritage through your car – a powerful, stylish way to take 60 years of epic achievements into the future.”
