Typhoon among most secure Aussies

FORD Performance Vehicles has moved to clarify the results of the latest motoring association security ratings, which ranked Mitsubishi’s 380 sedan as the top performer in the large-car segment.

With 74.5 points out of a possible 120, the 380 outscored Commodore (59.5), Camry (58), Falcon (57.5) and Avalon (57). However, this score was below Ford Performance Vehicles’ Falcon-based F6 Typhoon sedan, which was scored 91 points in the sportscar category.

Other sportscar results included the Falcon XR8 on 59 points, Holden’s Monaro CV8 on 59.5 and, taking out the top three spots by a clear margin with 115 points or more, three Audi models (TT and S4 sedan and cabrio).
